Today, Mike advises founders, CEOs, boards, investors, and institutions on the strategic implications of technology policy, great power competition, and the regulatory environment for emerging technologies.
Mike Kuiken brings nearly 23 years of U.S. Senate experience to his strategic advisory practice, including service on the Senate Armed Services Committee and as National Security Advisor to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
In that role, he crafted and led the successful campaign to secure passage of the CHIPS and Science Act and played a key role in establishing and managing the Senate's AI Insight Forums. Prior to joining Senator Schumer's team, Mike spent more than 12 years as a professional staff member on the Senate Armed Services Committee.
Mike serves on the boards of the National Defense Industrial Association, the Planetary Science Institute, and the Truman Center. His writing has appeared in the Financial Times, Newsweek, and the Boston Globe, and he is a frequent guest on foreign policy and national security podcasts.
